Mould-resistant resealing FAQs
I clean the sealant regularly but the mould keeps coming back — why?
Surface cleaning only removes what's visible. Mould usually takes hold underneath or within the sealant itself, over a joint applied on a damp or unprepared surface — it has to be stripped out, not just cleaned.
Will anti-microbial sealant stop mould coming back for good?
It significantly extends the time before mould returns, but no sealant is permanent — good ventilation in the room matters just as much as the product used.
Do you treat the wall or tile behind the sealant as well?
Yes — where mould has spread to the substrate we treat it before resealing, rather than sealing over a contaminated surface.
How is this different from a normal reseal?
The removal and preparation stage is more thorough, and we use an anti-microbial silicone rather than a standard product, specifically to resist mould regrowth.
