Kitchen sealing FAQs
How long before I can use the kitchen?
Most silicone is touch-dry within an hour and fully cured in 24. Avoid heavy water contact on the joint for the first day.
Can you seal against granite or quartz worktops?
Yes. Stone surfaces need a neutral-cure silicone — acetoxy products can stain and discolour the stone edge.
Do you paint over the sealant?
Where a painted finish is needed we use a paintable mastic rather than silicone, which paint will not adhere to.
Why does my sealant keep going black?
Usually because it was applied over an unprepared or damp joint. A full strip-out and anti-microbial reseal is the fix.
